- Less than 25% of those in need receive any service
- Average woman in Uganda has 7 children
- Extended families, largely single female widows are raising their orphaned grandchildren
- The enormity of the problem will exist for at least another 2 decades.
- Most households are hard pressed to provide financial, social, psychological,
educational, and health support for the well being of the orphans
